Community Engagement
We love being a part of the Boalsburg and greater State College area community! Through our collaboration with other local organizations that call Boalsburg home, we can join forces with other service groups to lend a hand or provide fun activities to the local community members. We have participated in local events including:
· Boalsburg’s Hometown Christmas
· Boalsburg’s Memorial Day Celebrations
· Wasson’s Trunk or Treat
· Blue Lions Field Hockey Tournaments
Community Service
Community Service is an integral part of the Grange that allows our members to interact and serve the communities that we reside in. Each year members of Victor Grange participate in a variety of community service projects including:
· Collections for the food bank
· Planting flowers at historical sites in Boalsburg
· Donating homemade blankets to Children’s Hospitals
· Participating in the American Red Cross blood drives
Legislative Action
We advocate for agriculture and rural communities on the local, state, and national level. We provide education on current legislative movements to members and engage with public officials. Many of our members are active or previous members of local and state governments boards and committees.
Education
We actively participate in activities that provide education on the Grange, agriculture, and the rural way of life. This includes having an educational display at the Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair each year, Grange members serving as guest speakers in high school agricultural classes and reading books during Ag Literacy week at local elementary schools.
The Journey of finding our home….

Fun Facts
The Victor Grange Hall is site #50 on the Historic Boalsburg trail. The building has long been a part of the town’s history as a cornerstone of business. The Grange Hall, when constructed by Jerry Dinges in the 1880’s, was a one-story structure to house his drug store. Though drugs and medicine were the principal articles sold, many older citizens have “sweet” memories of penny candies they bought at “Uncle Jerry’s”. After Mr. Dinges died, the Grand Order of the Knights of Malta bought the property and added a second floor for their meeting room. John Weber, a skilled local cabinet maker, was employed to build the fine velvet-upholstered benches and chairs which still line the walls of the meeting room. The first floor continued to be rented as a drug store for a period but is best remembered as John Bricker’s ice cream parlor. The Knights of Malta, no longer an active organization, then sold the property to Victor Grange in 1930. Today, the store
